The Reds have been tipped to use the transfer window currently underway to bring in a new attacking signing with Jurgen Klopp looking to shore up his options in time for the start of the new campaign.
Landing the signature of Juventus star forward Federico Chiesa could cost Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool a fee in the region of £78 million, according to reports from Calcio Mercato.
Moreover, as the future of Xherdan Shaqiri at Anfield beyond this summer hangs in the balance amid interest in the Swiss international from Serie A outfit Lazio, Klopp will be on the search for reinforcements to make up for the departure of Shaqiri.
With Klopp’s star-studded trio of Roberto Firmino, Mohammad Salah and Sadio Mane all nearing 30 years of age, it is believed that the Liverpool boss will scout the market for younger blood to provide a partner to last summer’s recruit Diogo Jota up top on the pitch.
Chiesa’s price tag, however, is not expected to awaken Liverpool’s interest in intensifying their approach for the Italy international considering Klopp will have a smaller transfer kitty to work with this time around.
