Liverpool central defender Ben Davies looks set to stay put at Anfield beyond this summer’s transfer window with the Reds shooting down a loan offer from Sheffield United for the player.
The Daily Mail’s Dominic King claims that there is a three-way contest to land the 25-year-old Davies this summer with Celtic, Sheffield United and Bournemouth all having registered an interest in the Liverpool man’s services.
Davies signed for the Premier League giants only earlier this year during the January transfer window when Jurgen Klopp used the final hours of deadline-day to bring in defensive reinforcement to shore up his injury-hit backline options.
However, the former Preston North End star name is yet to make his debut for the Merseysiders with a series of injury niggles curtailing his time on the football pitch as rumours circulate that Davies could be lured into calling it quits at Anfield as early as this summer.
Liverpool have already brought in a fresh face for their backline in the ex-Leipzig first-teamer Ibrahima Konate who has signed a long-term deal with his new club running until the summer of 2026.
