Naby Keita could snub new Liverpool deal over gametime concerns

Naby Keita could be in line to snub a new Liverpool deal over gametime concerns with the player hoping to get assurance of regular minutes on the pitch for the Merseysiders.

There has been the recent talk of the Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp planning to extend a new long-term contract to Keita who has his current deal coming to a close in less than two years.

Reports from Christian Falk ( via The Daily Star) have suggested that the 26-year-old Keita is inclined to reject Liverpool’s offer for him to commit his long-term future at Anfield with the Premier League heavyweights.

The Guinean international midfield man is understood to have concerns over his inability to cement a regular first-team role for Jurgen Klopp’s side and will seek assurances for the same should he put pen to paper on a new extended deal on Merseyside.

Keita has been a surprise package for Liverpool early on this new season with the former Leipzig man handed an extended run of minutes on the pitch as Jurgen Klopp chose to put faith in his current midfield options rather than using the transfer market this summer.
