Liverpool plan to offer Naby Keita in a cash-plus-player deal for Inter Milan midfield man Nicolo Barella with Jurgen Klopp keen to strike an agreement.
According to a report from the Italian news outlet Calciomercato, it is claimed that Liverpool are looking to bring in the highly-rated Barella this summer to add to their options in the heart of the midfield.
The Inter star has been linked with a move to Anfield in the recent past with Klopp on the hunt for midfield reinforcements after the long-serving anchorman Gini Wijnaldum joined Paris Saint-Germain last summer after leaving the Reds fold.
Speculation doing the rounds is that Liverpool could be tempted to send Naby Keita, who enters the final 12 months of his Liverpool contract come next season, in the direction of San Siro to convince Inter on parting ways with Barella.
The 25-year-old has been one of the most consistent performers for both club and country and is expected to look for a new challenge in his career sooner rather than later with Europe’s biggest clubs eyeing up his signature.
