Liverpool to hold talks with Roberto Firmino amid Juventus interest

Liverpool are set to hold talks with Roberto Firmino amid a strong interest shown in the Brazilian attacker by Serie A giants Juventus.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were reportedly keeping close tabs on Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot and mulling over a part-exchange deal that would see Firmino go in the opposite direction this summer.

Juventus, however, are hoping to land the highly-rated Liverpool forward for a knockdown price of less than £20 million which has prompted Firmino and his representatives to plan talks with the Reds’ top officials in the coming weeks.

According to The Daily Mirror, Liverpool could be forced into an early sale of the 30-year-old Firmino, who has just 12 months left on his current terms at Anfield, in the ongoing transfer window to avoid losing him on free come next summer.

The big-money recruitment of dangerman Darwin Nunez from Benfica earlier in the window has further added to speculation of Firmino’s long-term future in the Liverpool colours after an inconsistent campaign from the player last term.
