Liverpool transfer target Jude Bellingham insists he is happy at Borussia Dortmund

Liverpool transfer target Jude Bellingham has insisted that he is happy at Borussia Dortmund amid speculation of a move to the Premier League in the near future.

The England international has been a long-standing name on Jurgen Klopp’s shopping list with the Liverpool head coach keen to bring in Bellingham to freshen his injury-stricken options in the engine room.

Bellingham has been a star turn for Dortmund since his move to Germany and has caught the attention of some of the biggest clubs across Europe with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City also keeping tabs on his transfer status.

His terms at Dortmund are not due to expire until June 2025 which means that any of his suitors in the market will have to fork out a big-money fee to land the coveted signature.

When quizzed upon his future at the club after having watched on as former Dortmund team-mates Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho both made the moves to England’s top flight, Bellingham said he was unfazed by the rumour mill and remained happy to stay put, as quoted by The Liverpool Echo.

“First of all, I’m here to help Borussia Dortmund win the game. If I can play well and showcase my talents, it is a bonus. But I’m here to win for Borussia Dortmund and I’m very happy here at the minute and I’m focused on all of the goals we have as a team and I’m not looking past that.

“The club have done loads for me and made me feel very welcome since I first came and gave me the opportunities to develop even further. To look past that and into the future would be disrespectful.

“It’s not something I am thinking about, to be honest,” he added when probed on whether or not returning to England is a long-term ambition of his. “It’s a massive game against Man City. To even be thinking about something like that would be crazy.”
