Liverpool are said to be keeping tabs on Morocco’s World Cup star Azzedine Ounahi in an attempt to improve their midfield options midway through the season.
The Reds have been recently linked with a move for Fiorentina maestro Sofyan Amrabat who was one of the stars of the tournament in Qatar with his dazzling run of displays for the semi-finalists Morocco.
However, a move for the 26-year-old Amrabat could be tough to pull off when the transfer window reopens for business in the coming weeks with Fiorentina likely to turn any offers in their in-demand midfielder and demand a hefty asking price.
According to a report from The Daily Express, Liverpool have their sights on Amrabat’s national teammate – the Angers man Ounahi with the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp in dire need of new legs in midfield heading into the January window.
Angers sit at the foot of the Ligue 1 standings and could be forced into a sale of the 22-year-old Ounahi to raise much-needed funds as some of Europe’s biggest clubs show an interest in the player’s services.
