Liverpool warned of panic-buying Morocco’s World Cup star Sofyan Amrabat

Liverpool have been warned of panic-buying Morocco’s World Cup star Sofyan Amrabat by former Reds midfielder Don Hutchinson who reckons his old club should not move in for Amrabat this month.

A £40 million price tag on the midfielder’s head came on the back of his impressive run of displays in Qatar with Morocco who emerged as the surprise package of the tournament with their run to the semi-finals.

With the Reds on the hunt for a fresh pair of legs to reinforce the midfield ranks at Jurgen Klopp’s disposal for the second half of the season, there had been speculation that Liverpool were keeping close tabs on Amrabat’s situation.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are not the only Premier League heavyweight interested in the 27-year-old Serie A star with North London side Tottenham Hotspur previously linked with a move for Amrabat only to be rebuffed by Fiorentina.

While speaking to ESPN, Don Hutchinson, however, has voiced concern over Liverpool’s rumoured pursuit of Amrabat with the Anfield giants urged to look elsewhere for the ‘perfect’ signing.

“They have to make sure they don’t panic [in the transfer market].

“I have seen Amrabat at the World Cup. He had a brilliant World Cup for Morocco. He hasn’t been that good for Fiorentina for 18 months, so you can’t just panic and look at these players and think ‘that’s the one I need’. Make sure you get the right one.”
