Liverpool eyeing a surprise move for Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips

Liverpool are eyeing a surprise move for Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips with the Reds looking for alternatives to Jude Bellingham.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are considered to be no longer in the chase for Bellingham’s signature with the England midfielder deemed too expensive a summer recruit for the Anfield giants who are keen to overhaul their engine room options.

According to a report from The Daily Star, Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips has emerged as a viable target for Liverpool and the 27-year-old is said to be open to a move to the Merseyside this coming summer.

Phillips has had a debut season to forget in the Man City shirt since making the move to the Etihad last year from Leeds United with the midfielder not started a single match this season under Pep Guardiola’s charge.

As the former Leeds man looks to revitalise his career at the highest level, signing for Liverpool could come as a much needed lifeline for Phillips with the Reds desperate to bring in a fresh pair of legs to bolster their midfield roster.
