Liverpool are believed to have conceded defeat in pursuit of England midfielder Jude Bellingham who was a top transfer target for the Reds ahead of this summer.
The 19-year-old midfield talent, who has been a star turn for both club and country over the past year and a half, was all but certain to spark off a bidding war between Europe’s biggest clubs later this year.
According to a report from The Telegraph, it is claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s side no longer appears confident of signing Bellingham with the Reds fretting over the spending power of the other clubs who want him.
Moreover, there is a chance that Bellingham might not leave Borussia Dortmund come the summer and Liverpool could have their eye out for alternatives in the transfer market to bolster their midfield roster.
Targeting the sought after Bellingham was always going to be complicated for Liverpool’s recruitment team with Klopp keen to restructure his misfiring squad with at least four big name and expensive additions.
