Liverpool are considering a move for Aston Villa star Boubacar Kamara

Liverpool are reportedly considering a transfer move for Aston Villa midfielder Boubacar Kamara, as reported by Foot Mercato.

The French star joined Aston Villa last summer on a free transfer after his contract with Olympique Marseille expired.

Despite his recent arrival, Kamara is under contract with Villa for another four years, indicating that the club is unlikely to allow his departure in this transfer window.

While a transfer to Liverpool is not ruled out, it would be a challenging task due to the complexities involved.

Liverpool have faced setbacks in their pursuit of midfield targets this summer, as both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia chose to join Chelsea rather than the Anfield club.

This situation has damaged Liverpool’s reputation in the transfer market. Nevertheless, the club remains resolute in its intention to strengthen Jurgen Klopp’s squad with a new midfielder before the transfer window concludes.

Yet, the selling clubs might attempt to complicate potential transfers for Liverpool, who learned lessons from the Caicedo and Lavia deals and experienced unfavorable outcomes.

Liverpool had agreed upon a £110 million deal for the Ecuadorian midfielder, but he declined the move to Merseyside, as he had already committed to Chelsea earlier in the summer.

Liverpool also reached an agreement to pay £60 million to Southampton for Romeo Lavia, but the Belgian midfielder declined the offer.

Other clubs have become aware that Liverpool possesses a substantial amount of money to spare. Given the exceptionally high prices at which midfielders have been sold this summer, these clubs might aim to extract maximum funds from Liverpool.

Kamara’s previous season with Villa was hampered by injuries, leading to his limited participation of 26 matches in various competitions.

Nonetheless, his evident skill makes him a decent signing, provided Liverpool can successfully execute the transfer.

Transfermarkt values Kamara at €30 million, but Villa could easily demand twice that amount from Liverpool, who are now appearing rather desperate in the transfer market.

The Reds have also been linked with a potential move for Crystal Palace’s Cheick Doucoure, although convincing the Eagles to sell would likely require a bid of around £50 million.
