Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has reportedly touched base with Jurgen Klopp over a potential season-long loan swoop for Liverpool FC starlet Rhian Brewster.
The 20-year old striker has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield in the aftermath of Portuguese international Diogo Jota signing for the Reds. Moreover, the presence of Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino means that Brewster’s place in the first-team squad is not a guarantee.
Despite his impressive ability as an attacking talent being known to Klopp and the Liverpool FC backroom staff, Brewster’s development into a more clinical first-team player will require a greater level of playing opportunities, something which cannot be awarded to the youngster at the Merseyside club.
Chris Wilder’s Sheffield side are being considered the frontrunners in a six-club race to sign Brewster. Liverpool FC value the England U21 international in the region of £25 million and will definitely attempt to insert a buy-back clause in any deal involving Brewster’s exit from Anfield on a permanent basis.
