Adrian’s heroic showing against the Blades earns lavish praise for the Spaniard from Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for the third-fiddle in the Liverpool FC’s goalkeeping pecking order Adrian in the aftermath of the Reds snapping short their four-game-long losing run when they visited Bramall Lane on Sunday.

The Merseysiders exerted major control over the tempo of the game against the Blades and a great second-half display from the visitors was crucial towards their return to much-needed winning ways.

Adrian, who was recalled into the XI in place of the usual No.1 Alisson Becker, was a standout performer for his side with a brilliant show between the sticks and the former West Ham United man was the subject of lavish praise from his coach Klopp in the latter’s post-game interview.

“I’m so happy for him, he deserves that. He showed pure class and top character. He showed all his personality,” said Klopp as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

“Top, top, top, top!

“If you want, he is now number three (goalkeeper) but in the dressing room you will never see any difference.

“He is just a very strong character and helps the team even when he’s not playing. Here he helped on the pitch a lot and I’m really happy for him.”

The 34-year-old Spaniard had found himself relegated to the third spot in Liverpool FC’s shot-stopper hierarchy since the backend of last season following the young Caoimhin Kelleher making his mark in the most impressive of manners when given an extended amount of first-team involvement.
