Alisson Beckers opens up on Liverpool’s start to the Premier League season

Liverpool FC No.1 Alisson Becker says that his side’s sole focus remains on their own results as the Reds’ 7-0 victory away at Crystal Palace on Saturday took them four points clear of second-placed Leicester City in the league standings.

A brilliant performance from Jurgen Klopp’s men, both offensively as well as defensively, at Selhurst Park meant that the Merseysiders’ great start to the campaign was complemented even further, in spite of rival clubs mounting an impressive title-challenege of their own.

Both Leicester City and Southampton have emerged as dark horses with their splendid showings on the field, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United could go just two points adrift of Liverpool FC should the Old Trafford outfit emerge as victors in their game in hand.

However, in a recent interview to the Reds’ official website, Liverpoolfc.com, Alisson voiced the Merseysiders’ mentality tends to be centred towards their showings on the field rather than pay heed to other clubs vying for the top spot in the Premier League table.

“It’s good, you put pressure on the opponents, the other teams who are there fighting for first place,” he told Liverpoolfc.com post-Palace, when asked about the impact of winning the lunchtime kick-off.

“But we are only thinking about ourselves, thinking about what we can do on the pitch. So, when you get three points with a great performance you will be happy.

“We have one week to rest now, to prepare the next game and the next challenge, and to enjoy a little bit Christmas with the family.
