Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson has reportedly been offered a new contract which will double his wages at the club.
Ever since joining Liverpool from Hull City last season, Andrew Robertson has been absolutely sensational for Jurgen Klopp’s side. Robertson has kept out Alberto Moreno out of the team and has established himself as the number one choice in that spot after Liverpool had a few issues in that position over the past few seasons.
His brilliant outings helped Liverpool to the Champions League final last term and the Scotsman is now being offered a new deal by the club because of his performances. And Robertson is now poised to sign a new deal with Liverpool, as the club had mentioned two months ago, which will run out until 2023.
Before the start of the 2017-18 season, Robertson still had three years remaining on his current deal with Liverpool when he joined Liverpool from relegated Hull City. But now, the 24-year-old can sign a five-year contract extension which is currently in the table to commit his future with the Merseyside giants.
Robertson’s progress has already made him a fan favorite at Anfield and he is set to be rewarded with a new contract deal which will double his wages to £60,000 a week. Robertson wasn’t tipped to be a regular starter for Liverpool when he first joined the Premier League giants as he played in front of a crowd of Scotland’s fourth tier just over five years ago.
But after dominating displays, Robertson is playing a key part in Liverpool’s title challenge at the moment and was also named as the captain for his national Scotland side when Alex Mcleish took charge of the national side.
I think that Robertson’s story has been somewhat of a fairytale but he has worked extremely hard towards it. The full-back is one of the best players at the club and is relishing football at Liverpool, it’s great news for the fans as well as Robertson, as he is quite destined to pen a new deal with Liverpool.
