Aston Villa turn focus towards Liverpool striker after missing out on Callum Wilson’s signing

Aston Villa have reportedly made signing Reds starlet Rhian Brewster a priority after missing out on Callum Wilson’s signature this summer.

The ex-AFC Bournemouth star striker left the Vitality Stadium for Newcastle United in a deal worth £20 million, snubbing interest from Villa, who had been particularly interested in making the move for him.

And now the 20-year old Brewster, a player on the rise within the ranks of the Anfield outfit, is being targeted by Dean Smith’s side. The youngster was in a remarkable form on loan at Swansea City last season, scoring 11 times in 22 games.

Brewster has also enjoyed a terrific start to Liverpool FC’s pre-season campaign ahead of the 2020-21 season and looks set to rival the likes of Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino for the backup attacking option slot in Jurgen Klopp’s side.

However, the Reds boss may be enticed to accept Villa’s rumored bid of £25 million for the 20-year old forward, considering that Brewster does not fit into Klopp’s first-team squad plans for the near future.
