Both sides looked threatening when going forward and defences had to be on top to avoid going behind early on in the weekend clash.

Brentford’s Kristoffer Ajer was called into action to clear the ball just before the line when Mohamed Salah had raced past and prodded his finish beyond David Raya.

On the other end of the pitch, Joel Matip was Liverpool’s saviour to clear Bryan Mbeumo’s effort on the line as the visitors sought to deal with a fiery Brentford forward lineup.

The hosts, however, capitalised upon their dominance in front of the goal and took the lead through Pinnock who tapped in his strike from close ranger after a Brentford set piece.

Just minutes later Jordan Henderson’s sweetly timed delivery into the box found the lurking Diogo Jota whose header made the scoreline level.

Liverpool struck early in the second half and it was Mohamed Salah who got his 100th league goal for the Merseysiders with a composed finish past Raya from a looping Fabinho pass.

Goals galore soon after and it was Brentford who got back into the game with Raya finding the back of the net on the rebound Pontus Jansson’s effort crashed against the crossbar.

Curtis Jones, with his last kick of the match before being substituted, had a smashing effort on goal to get the better of the Brentford goalie Raya who could do nothing to stop the young midfielder’s strike.

Brentford managed to secure a point from their home outing in the end and left it quite late to make it 3-3 as substitute Wissa got on the scoresheet with a neat finish past Alisson.
