Liverpool tasted defeat for the first time in the Champions League this season as the Reds lost 2-0 against Atalanta at Anfield. Even though the squad of Liverpool is deflated after the injury problems to their stars but still Klopp will be expected to win the next game against Brighton and Hove Albion. Brighton haven’t been in the best of forms but have played some good football with Maupay and Welbeck scoring the goals.
Klopp rested the likes of Fabinho and Firmino in the game against Atalanta and also didn’t start with Robertson. The Reds of Liverpool will be expected to play much better against Brighton as the minnows are finding it difficult to cope with the Premier League. But it will be interesting to see how Klopp will set his Liverpool tomorrow against Brighton in the Premier League.
Let us now have a look at how Liverpool might lineup against the likes of Brighton tomorrow.
THE 4-3-3
The 4-3-3 is one of the most used formations by Jurgen Klopp as he has had great midfielders at Liverpool since the last couple of years. With the inclusion of club captain Jordan Henderson, Liverpool will get solidity in the midfield which they have lacked for a few weeks. Other than Wijnaldum, Henderson and Curtis Jones, Liverpool barely have a fit proper midfielder in the squad with the injuries to Thiago and Keita.
Salah has also returned to the Liverpool squad after isolating for the coronavirus he had after the international break a couple of weeks ago. The famous front three are most likely to play in the game as Firmino, Mane and Salah are all fit and eager to score goals. The defence will now look stable with Matip and Fabinho both back from their injuries.
Milner has done very well playing for Liverpool even at this age as he played right-back last weekend as well. But the pressure will still be on the defence with the absence of Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold.
THE 4-2-3-1
The only other system Klopp has used at Liverpool is the 4-2-3-1 as it gives license to the Liverpool full-backs to bomb forward and join the attack. With Wijnaldum and Henderson in the midfielder double pivot, Klopp will be expecting solidity along with the responsibility that comes with the experience of both the long-time Scousers. Both the midfielders have done very well in the midfield as both have a lot of grit and don’t give up in the midfielder battle.
The likes of Wijnaldum and Henderson in the midfield will allow Jurgen Klopp to play Jota, Mane, Salah and Firmino as well. Jota has done very well at Liverpool and has successfully scored goals, which has been a pleasant surprise for the Reds fans. It will be interesting to see how Salah plays though, as he was poor against Atalanta in the Premier League.
Despite all the situations, Liverpool will be expected to win the game as they are doing very well in their title defence this year even without their key players.
