Brighton confident of completing the deal to sign Liverpool’s James Milner

Brighton are believed to be confident of completing the deal to sign Liverpool midfielder James Milner this summer when his contract expires at Anfield.

Milner is set to head into free agency at the end of the season with Liverpool not renewing his terms and the former Manchester City man is likely to sign for Premier League high-flyers Brighton on a free transfer.

According to a report from The Guardian, it is claimed that an agreement between Milner and Brighton is getting closer with the south coast outfit mulling over the contract to the 37-year-old who will be leaving Liverpool after an eight-year spell.

Brighton are set to make Milner their second signing after João Pedro who is nearing his move to the Seagulls from Watford in a £30 million deal with the latter in line to complete his medical ahead of the proposed transfer.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are reportedly stepping up their pursuit of Brighton maestro Alexis Mac Allister with the Reds set to present details of their financial proposal to the Argentine World Cup star.
