According to the latest reports, Sheyi Ojo is edging closer to signing a loan deal with Cardiff City ahead of the 2020-21 season.
The 23-year old had been tipped to be offloaded by the Anfield giants’ this summer, however, only on a temporary basis. He is highly unlikely to get any significant involvement in the Liverpool FC first-team squad in the upcoming campaign, hence a loan move for the player seems to be in his best interests as well.
Ojo had also been rumored to be a prospective target for Championship side Nottingham Forest, who had been wanting to sign the winger in a double deal along with Reds’ center-back Nathan Philips.
However, it is believed that the Merseyside club sees Cardiff as a more favorable option for the player to depart for on a season-long loan deal. Jurgen Klopp reportedly wants Ojo to gain valuable first-team experience on his spell away from Anfield next season.
Ojo signed a long-term contract extension with the Reds in 2018 before going on successive loan spells at French side Reims and Steven Gerrard-managed Rangers, the latter of which turned out to be a productive spell for the young attacking prospect.
