Jurgen Klopp has decided to issue a recall to his first-choice option at left-back in Andy Robertson for Saturday’s contest against Chelsea at Anfield.
Robertson returns to his role with Kostas Tsimikas dropping out as another change for the hosts is Roberto Firmino replacing Diogo Jota in the central striking position.
Robertson replaces an in-form Tsimikas
The Greek international Tsimikas who had been handed successive games owing to Robertson’s ankle injury was in top form and registered an assist last time around against Burnley.
However, with Chelsea expected to cause much trouble on the attacking front, the more experienced Robertson is back in the left-back role for the Merseysiders who will be aiming to secure the win.
Jota drops out as Firmino gets his first start of the new season
Another change on the show for Liverpool is the dropping down to the bench for the high-flying Diogo Jota who had scored in each of his opening two games of the new Premier League campaign.
Returning to the starting XI for Jurgen Klopp’s side for his first start of the 21-22 season is the Brazilian Roberto Firmino who starts up top alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Here is how both teams line up for today’s Premier League fixture:
