Klopp’s men got the weekend fixture off to a good start and looked the most likely of either side to find the back of the net first and take an important lead early on.

On the other end of the pitch, Liverpool’s ever-present No.1 Alisson Becker had to be on guard to deny Chris Wood following which the hosts enjoyed a breakthrough.

Kostas Tsimikas put in a delightful cross into the box which was met by the lurking Jota who carried on his fantastic run of form in front of the goal.

Mohamed Salah found the back of the net too just minutes after the opening goal with a composed finish past Nick Pope but a VAR check ruled out the Egyptian’s effort.

Heading into the game after the half-time break, Liverpool continued to apply pressure on the Burnley backline in their quest to find another goal to double their lead which ultimately came through Mane.

The Senegalese smashed home his effort after a clever dinked pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold had set him up to add to the scoreline and rubber stamp the win.

Jurgen Klopp brought on the likes of Thiago Alcantara and Joe Gomez before the full-time whistle meant another win in league action for the Merseysiders.
