Joel Matip is once again missing from the matchday squad as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool FC play Manchester United in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Taking Matip’s spot in the four-man backline for the Merseysiders is the 19-year-old Rhys Williams, with the teenage defensive starlet pipping Nat Phillips for partnering Fabinho.
James Milner and Curtis Jones drop into the starting eleven for the high-billed game against Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s men in place of Xherdan Shaqiri and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, both of whom had started Liverpool FC’s latest encounter in top-flight action on Thursday night against Burnley.
Andy Robertson is preferred over Kostas Tsimikas in the left-back role despite expectations of Klopp to hand the latter a much-deserved outing in first-team football as speculation remains rife over the new Liverpool FC man’s long-term future at Anfield.
Both Mohammad Salah and Roberto Firmino return to the XI after having been benched for the defeat to Burnley earlier this week but the duo are without their attacking partner Sadio Mane who features on the bench alongside Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino.
