Conor Coady denies any potential switch to Liverpool amid recent speculation

Former Liverpool FC centre-back and a graduate of the club’s famed youth academy, Conor Coady has laughed off any potential move to Anfield in the near future, while speaking to Jamie Carragher in the aftermath of Wolves’ 1-0 win over Leeds United.

The newly capped English international has become a solid figure at the back for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side in recent times and was a major part of the Wolves side that enjoyed a superb domestic campaign across the 2019-20 season.

Despite being a known Reds fan throughout his life, Coady was quick to dispel any rumours of him wanting a switch back to his former side after reports circulated that the Merseyside giants were on the lookout for centre-back reinforcements following Virgil van Dijk’s long-term injury blow.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Coady said, ‘I can’t believe you have just put this to me here! No, not at all’.

‘I love playing for this club, we’ve just beat Leeds in an amazing, amazing game. You know what I am like.

With Coady having recently put pen to paper on a new five-year-long deal with Wolves, it would be very difficult for Jurgen Klopp’s side to convince their fellow top-flight rivals to part ways with the 27-year old defender, and the Reds will be on the hunt for other options to provide much-needed cover for the injured Van Dijk.
