Everton’s Neal Maupay drops major Khephren Thuram to Liverpool transfer hint

Everton striker Neal Maupay has dropped a hint suggesting that French midfielder and Liverpool target Khephren Thuram could be his neighbor soon.

Liverpool has expressed active interest in signing Thuram, the son of former player Lillian Thuram, during the summer transfer window. Talks have taken place between the club and Thuram’s agent, and a potential deal may be on the horizon.

The midfielder has impressed with his performances for Nice and will be representing France in the U21 European Championship. When asked about Thuram, Maupay made comments alluding to a potential move to the Premier League. As stated by the Liverpool Echo, he said:

“He’s a great player. We could be neighbours soon.”

Liverpool’s current focus is on finalizing the signing of Alexis Mac Allister, with the Argentine undergoing a medical examination and set to complete the deal this week before joining the national team.

The club is also involved in the pursuit of Celta Vigo’s Gabri Veiga, and they have made contact with Manu Kone’s agent.

The pace of negotiations has picked up since the beginning of the month, indicating Liverpool’s determination to secure these signings as early as possible.

If the deals are completed before the start of pre-season, it would benefit Jurgen Klopp as he would have more time to integrate the new players into the team, compared to late arrivals in the transfer window.

Thuram is described as a well-rounded midfielder who possesses both physical and technical strengths, making him an excellent fit for Liverpool’s midfield.
