Liverpool are not desperate to bring in a replacement for the outgoing Gini Wijnaldum from this summer’s transfer market, according to midfield maestro Fabinho.
Wijnaldum sealed his exit from the Anfield camp earlier this summer and made a shock move to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain who hijacked FC Barcelona’s approach for the Holland international.
With the long-serving player in his midfield department gone, the Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been heavily linked with bring some much-needed fresh blood to shore up his options in the centre of the park heading into the start of the new campaign.

Fabinho, however, is of the opinion that Liverpool’s existing names in the midfield department can step up to fill the void left by Wijnaldum who was branded a ‘special’ player for the club by the Brazilian.
Liverpool have the likes of Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones, Naby Keita and the skipper Jordan Henderson to make their presence felt in the midfield three for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
“Gini was a really good friend of mine. Personally, I will miss him a lot and the team will miss him because he played in all the games, was never injured and was a really good player. He was a leader,” said the player as quoted by the Daily Mail.
“Gini was a really special player for this club. For me personally, he helped me a lot since I arrived at the club. Now he is at another team and I wish him all the best at PSG.
“I’m not worried about it. Our squad has already shown we have good players to replace him.
“I think the midfield is the part of the team where we have more players – we have Hendo (Jordan Henderson), me, Thiago (Alcantara), Curtis (Jones), Millie (James Milner), Naby Keita; a lot of players who can play in this position.”
