Four players Liverpool fans should keep an eye on for next season

The 2020-21 season of football, that gets underway in merely a fortnight from now, will be an ever so important campaign for Jurgen Klopp’s side. Fresh off their Premier League title victory last season that ended a 30-year barren run in search of league glory for the Merseyside giants, Liverpool FC will be hoping to accelerate their growth in world football in the coming season.

Reaching out for a treble, a possible first for the Reds’ in their famed 128-year old history, may not be a far-fetched dream for Klopp’s men. However, any inconsistency in the form that has marred Liverpool FC of late must be avoided in order to ensure a smooth passage play over the course of a year-long season of football.

In addition to a number of world-class talents in the club’s first-team squad that have carried their side to success over the past couple of seasons, many of the rising stars within the Liverpool FC camp may be looking to have their first full breakout season in the Reds shirt.

Let us take a look at four such quality players whose performances next season the Liverpool FC supporters should keep an eye out for –

#4 Naby Keita

Although by no means an unknown figure in Klopp’s side, the midfielder enjoyed a superb end to the 2019-20 season. Keita filled in for the injured Jordan Henderson in a fantastic manner with his brilliant run of form in the center of the park for Liverpool FC.

Despite not being his RB Leipzig self since arriving at Anfield in 2018, Keita seems to have hit top gear ahead of next season. It is fair to say that the 25-year old brings a certain level of flair to Liverpool FC’s style of play in midfield, which is usually characterized by the high-intensity pressing approach.

Keita would be hopeful of being a regular starter in the Liverpool FC playing XI next season and make the most of first-team involvement coming his way.

#3 Rhian Brewster

The English starlet has his work cut out at Anfield, judging by the expectations surrounding the young forward by the club and the supporters alike.

Brewster scored 11 times in 22 appearances for Swansea City whilst on loan at the Championship outfit from Liverpool FC in the latter half of the 2019-20 season.

And despite a number of top-flight clubs enquiring about the striker’s availability this summer, Brewster is heavily tipped to stay put at the Reds. He could pose a serious challenge to Divock Origi’s status as a backup to Roberto Firmino if the youngster is able to repay Jurgen Klopp’s faith in him.

#2 Curtis Jones

The Scouser made an instant impact when drafted into the Reds’ first-team squad last season with his showings alongside his much more experienced teammates in midfield. And Jones will be raring to cement his place has a rotation player for his boyhood side this upcoming season.

A product of the Liverpool FC youth academy, the 19-year old has displayed his talent on the pitch when awarded opportunities to do so by Klopp. The midfielder even scored his first goal in the Liverpool FC shirt against Aston Villa in July.

Jones has been a fairly consistent performer for the Merseyside giants’ U23 side over the last couple of years and the player will be optimistic about replicating that run of form for the senior squad as well.

#1 Loris Karius

The disgraced German shot-stopper who was solely held responsible for Liverpool FC’s loss to Real Madrid in the 2018 UEFA Champions League finals returns to the Anfield giants after a two-year loan spell at Besiktas.

Karius will slot into a third-choice goalkeeping option at Anfield due to Adrian’s position being cemented as Alisson’s backup. However, Adrian was not a major presence between the sticks for the Reds last season which might help Karius’s cause of displacing the former West Ham United man.

The 27-year old certainly has a lot to prove to the Liverpool FC fanbase who were on his case after his horrific showing in Kyiv two years ago.
