Injury Update

James Milner joins the ever-increasing injury list at Liverpool

Injury issues for the Premier League holders mounted even further with James Milner’s addition as the 35-year-old limped off the King Power Stadium pitch on Saturday.

Milner was handed a surprise start for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the centre of the park but merely 15 minutes had gone by on the clock before the veteran midfielder had to be substituted, with Thiago Alcantara taking his place.

According to reports from the Daily Mail, Milner’s latest injury is the Merseysiders’ tenth setback since the turn of the season and Liverpool FC await news of further assessment on their player’s knock ahead of next week’s forthcoming games against RB Leipzig and city foes Everton.

Injuries have hit the Reds very hard over the course of this ongoing top-flight campaign, with the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez expected to be on the receiving end of season-ending layoffs.

The return of Diogo Jota and Naby Keita, meanwhile, could provide some much-needed solace to the Liverpool FC fanbase as the pair are expected to join up with the rest of their teammates in the coming days.
