Jordan Henderson is set to return to Liverpool from England duty due to an injury scare while turning out for Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions.
The Reds skipper played the full 90 minutes in England’s victory over Albania in the World Cup qualifiers but with an undisclosed injury niggle, Henderson will be on his way back to the Anfield fold.
A statement from England Football has confirmed that Henderson will be returning to Liverpool for further assessment of his injury which Liverpool will be hoping to be a minor issue ahead of this weekend’s league action.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are set to play hosts to an in-form Arsenal side who sit just below them in the Premier League table and could pose to be a worry for Liverpool on the back of the latter’s stuttering showings as of late.
The Merseysiders have failed to win their last two league outings and came out second best to West Ham United just prior to the international break for a first defeat of the new season.
