Jurgen Klopp admits that a major summer rebuild is on the cards at Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp admitted that a major rebuild of his Liverpool squad is on the cards in the summer after his side’s poor run of showings this term.

The Reds sit eighth in the Premier League table and with just nine games left to play for, Klopp’s men face an uphill task in securing European club football for the next season with the Champions League entry a lofty ambition at present.

Liverpool’s disappointing campaign prompted calls for the club to spend big in the forthcoming transfer window and Klopp agreed ( quoted by Goal.com) that bringing in new faces would be a priority before the next season gets underway.

“We play a very average season, we have to do business in the market – we will do it! Spending in football combined with football knowledge will lead to improvement, that’s very likely.

“So it’s not rocket science we are talking about. So we have the year we have, but we will be ready to fight again, for whatever. We will see that – you will see that.”

The Anfield camp were linked with a move for the England midfield talent Jude Bellingham but recent reports have suggested that the Reds are considering cooling their interest in signing the 19-year-old due to his steep asking price.

Bayern Munich first team outcast Ryan Gravenberch has since emerged as the man Liverpool could go after to help freshen things up in their midfield roster with the Dutch midfielder rumoured to be looking for a way out.
