Jurgen Klopp confirms Liverpool striker Divock Origi’s exit plans

Jurgen Klopp confirmed Liverpool striker Divock Origi’s exit plans with the 27-year-old forward nearing his move to AC Milan on a Bosman deal.

Sunday’s outing at Anfield against Wolves would be the final game in the Liverpool shirt for Origi with the Belgium international deciding to seal an exit from the Merseysiders in search of greater playing opportunities.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference ahead of his side’s crunch game on home turf, Klopp admitted Origi was heading towards the Anfield exit door with the Liverpool boss voicing huge praise for his outing player.

“I expect ‘Div’ to get a special reception or farewell.

“It has been a pure joy to work with him. Wherever he will go he will be successful, 100%.

“An outstanding player, an outstanding boy. Everybody in the team loves him. It will be a harsh moment when he leaves.

“I remember so many things when I think about him: important goals, injuries, ups and downs… he’s a Liverpool legend, no doubt.”

The race to land Origi’s signature had been a hotly contested one with the Serie A table-toppers AC Milan pipping the likes of West Ham United, Newcastle United and Atalanta for the Reds forward.

He had been courted by some of the biggest clubs across the continent after it became clear that the ex-Lille man would be out of contract come the summer following his refusal to renew terms at Liverpool.
