Injury Update

Jurgen Klopp issues major update over Ozan Kabak and James Milner injuries

Ozan Kabak has sustained a muscle issue that kept the young Turkish defender out of Liverpool’s win over Southampton on Saturday evening at Anfield.

The 21-year-old on-loan centre-back was sidelined for the weekend fixture with Rhys Williams coming into the starting eleven for the Reds to play alongside Nat Phillips in the heart of the defence.

Joining Kabak on the recovery table for Liverpool was the veteran James Milner who Jurgen Klopp expects would be back in the first-team fold within the coming week, according to reports from the club’s official website.

“With Millie, it’s not a big thing but I expect him back maybe next week or something like that.

“With Ozan, we don’t know exactly, we have to wait and see a little bit. It’s a muscle thing, it happened without any real intensity but still serious enough for not being involved. The same for Ben Davies.”

Jurgen Klopp’s men emerged easy victors against the Saints in what was a must-win game for the hosts in order to keep their top-four hopes very much alive with the season nearing its end.

Sadio Mane and Thiago Alcantara were the goalscorers with the latter bringing up his very first goal in the Liverpool colours since his move to Anfield last summer.
