Jurgen Klopp keen on pursuing move for RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer

Jurgen Klopp is said to be keen on pursuing a move for RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer with the Liverpool head coach looking to bolster his engine room options when the January transfer window opens.

Liverpool brought in Arthur Melo on deadline day in a loan transfer from Juventus but the Brazilan’s arrival is expected to be a short-term fix for an injury-hit midfield roster at Anfield.

With James Milner turning 37 in January and possibly into his last season in the Liverpool shirt coupled with uncertainty looming over the futures of Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Liverpool are in the market for reinforcements.

According to a report from TeamTalk, it is claimed that Liverpool could be lured to move in for Laimer who is out of contract at Leipzig come June 2023 and the German outfit would consider parting ways in a cut-price deal.

There is talk of Keita’s return to the Leipzig camp which could mean a swap deal involving the Guinean with Liverpool’s new transfer target in the shape of Laimer.
