Jurgen Klopp wants Naby Keita to renew his terms with Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp wants Naby Keita to renew his terms with Liverpool beyond next summer amid speculation over the midfielder’s future doing the rounds of late.

Keita’s contract at Anfield is due to expire at the end of the 2022-23 season and there is talk gaining ground that the former Leipzig man is not convinced about agreeing upon a new deal with the Merseysiders.

With less than 12 months remaining on his current terms, Keita is understood to have considered other options should he leave Liverpool with the Gineua international worried over his lack of regular first-team football for Klopp’s side.

According to a claim from Sky Sports Germany, Monday night’s derby clash at Old Trafford against Manchester United will be an all-important game for Keita who is gearing up for a return to the team sheet after his recent injury niggle.

Talks between the Liverpool board and Keita have hit a stumbling block with no agreement in sight, suggests the rumour mill, even as Klopp attempts to tie down his midfield man to a long-term extension.
