Jurgen Klopp plays down injury concerns over his midfield man Naby Keita

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp played down injury concerns over his midfield man Naby Keita who was taken off the pitch at the half-time break in the win over Norwich City this Tuesday.

Keita looked in some discomfort upon his withdrawal from the third round game which spelt out rumours that the 26-year-old could be set for a layoff owing to an injury issue.

Klopp, however, dismissed the growing concerns over Keita’s situation in his post-match presser as the Liverpool boss explained that the player was taken off merely as a precaution after kicking the grass inside the opening 45 minutes.

“In the first half he kicked the grass.

“I don’t think it is serious but we don’t want to take any risks. That’s it.”

“We are not too concerned but we had to change.”

The Merseysiders booked their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup after running out convincing victors over an under-fire Norwich City side with a 3-0 scoreline with Jurgen Klopp’s men posting an impressive showing on all fronts.

Takumi Minamino got the brace on his return to the starting teamsheet for Liverpool while another fringe Liverpool man Divock Origi found the back of the net.
