Injury Update

Jurgen Klopp provides major injury update for Liverpool ahead of Sunday’s Manchester City clash

Alisson Becker, Sadio Mane and Fabinho could all feature for the Premier League holders over the weekend as Jurgen Klopp’s Merseyside men welcome table-toppers Manchester City to Anfield.

The Brazillian international Alisson had been forced to miss the last game for the Reds which turned out to be a 1-0 defeat to Brighton earlier this week.

Mane and Fabinho, meanwhile, have been absent from the first-team action since the last week, with the latter having to sit out Liverpool FC’s 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur as well owing to a muscle strain.

In his pre-match press conference leading up to Sunday’s high-billed fixture, Klopp provided a fresh breath of air to the Liverpool FC fanbase as he claimed that Alisson’s situation was much better before adding that both Mane and Fabinho would take part in training sessions on Friday.

‘Alisson feels much better,’ said the German coach, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

‘Sadio and Fabinho will be in parts of team training today so we’ll see.’

The potential return of the aforementioned three first-team names in the Liverpool FC colours come Sunday would give Klopp much-needed comfort due to his side struggling to maintain consistency in results, resulting in the champions sitting seven points adrift of the upcoming visitors to Anfield.
