Diogo Jota is in the reckoning to be included in the Liverpool FC matchday squad for the weekend Premier League fixture list as the Reds face Sheffield United on the road.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have been missing their latest forward addition since the backend of last year and Jota’s return to team training earlier this week was labelled as ‘really promising’ by the Liverpool FC boss in his pre-match press conference.
Klopp, however, voiced cautiousness over rushing back the former Wolves man to first-team football after what has been a considerable time out on the sidelines for Jota due to a knee injury.
“Diogo trained now twice with the team, looks very good – very good. But [he] was out long term so we have to see what we can do with that. But in training he looks really promising,” said the gaffer.
The German coach also briefed the media over the availability of Fabinho and James Milner, both players who are set to return to first-team training over the weekend, according to Klopp.
Fab was not yet with the team. That can happen tomorrow, if I’m 100 per cent right, he has his first session with the team. And same for James Milner.
