Jurgen Klopp reveals worrying injury setback for midfield talent Stefan Bajcetic

Jurgen Klopp revealed a worrying injury setback for midfield talent Stefan Bajcetic who was ruled out of midweek’s Champions League contest against Real Madrid.

The Spain midfielder has been an influential performer for the Reds this season in what has been a breakout campaign from him at Anfield, earning rave reviews for his showings in the centre of the park.

Speaking to reporters ahead of Liverpool’s defeat to Real on Wednesday night at the Bernabeu, Klopp said that Bajcetic had picked up a stress injury in his thigh which could see him be sidelined for the upcoming few weeks.

“With Stefan, it is a stress response, which is absolutely bad.

“So, he doesn’t feel a lot, it’s only a little bit but he is now out for I don’t know exactly how long. We have just to let it settle then and we will see when he can come back.

“[It’s] high up, around the adductor.”

Skipper Jordan Henderson was another midfielder who sat out Liverpool’s trip to Real due to illness but the England maestro is expected to return to the squad in time for Liverpool’s next game after the March international break.

Klopp’s men, who have suffered two defeats on the bounce to Bournemouth and Real, are next in action against the Premier League holders Manchester City on April 1.
