Jurgen Klopp is reportedly interested in strengthening Liverpool’s midfield by signing Khephren Thuram, according to a report from Fichajes. The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has caught the attention of the Merseyside club since the conclusion of last season.
Thuram initially emerged through the ranks of Monaco but struggled to secure a regular place in their senior squad. Consequently, at a young age, he made the decision to join OGC Nice.
Since his move to Nice in the summer of 2019, Thuram has made significant progress and has continued to impress.
The midfielder’s development has been remarkable, and his outstanding displays have garnered attention from several clubs.
Last season, the 22-year-old featured in 48 matches, accumulating nearly 3800 minutes on the pitch. He made a significant impact by contributing to 10 goals.
Liverpool have shown considerable interest in Thuram due to his exceptional performances over the past year. However, the pursuit was halted as Nice’s valuation was too much for the Merseyside club.

Liverpool’s interest in the player may have been reignited, as manager Klopp has reportedly requested to sign the midfielder.
Although the Reds have already made two significant midfield acquisitions with Alexis Mac-Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, Klopp is still eager to further strengthen his team.
Thuram’s exceptional defensive abilities and impressive ball distribution skills make him an attractive prospect for Liverpool.
His arrival would enhance the team’s midfield rotation and could provide cover for Brazilian midfielder Fabinho. Klopp sees Thuram as a valuable addition to revive Liverpool’s squad for the upcoming season.

In addition to Thuram, the German manager has expressed a desire to sign Roméo Lavia. Southampton’s relegation to the Championship has made them open to selling the player, although the price remains a concern as the club aims to maximize their returns.
While Klopp is interested in acquiring both Thuram and Lavia, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool can secure either player due to the potential price tags involved and competition from other clubs vying for their signatures.
