Keita and Alexander Arnold to train with teammates on Friday ahead of Wolves’ visit to Anfield

Naby Keita and Trent Alexander Arnold will be involved in first-team training on Friday ahead of the Reds playing Wolves at home over the weekend in the Premier League, revealed Liverpool FC gaffer Jurgen Klopp in his pre-match interview.

Both first-team regulars had been missing in action over the last few games since sustaining minor injury blows last month, with Arnold set to return to action after nearly a month-long layoff on the sidelines.

The star full-back pulled his hamstring in the 1-1 draw against Manchester City in early-November and later reports confirmed that the Englishman was set for a considerable time on the recovery table.

Meanwhile, Keita, who had grabbed a starting spot in the Liverpool FC lineup owing to injuries to Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho, also suffered a hamstring blow in the 3-0 win over Leicester City and limped off the pitch in the closing 45 minutes of the game.

However, the pair are set to return to training at the AXA complex and could be in line to make the matchday squad for Sunday’s game, according to Klopp as the Merseysiders face a tough challenge from Wolves in the weekend showdown.

“I don’t know yet, we will see. Trent and Naby will do the first steps in team training today; whatever we can do with that depends on how it looks.

“There is a chance Naby and Trent can be in the squad, I would say. If they can play, I don’t know. If they are in the squad then they can play, but if they can start or play 90 minutes, I don’t know. I think there’s a chance they are in the squad, yes.

“Apart from Naby and Trent, nobody is coming back, no.”
