Klopp instilled a never say die attitude into the club

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has claimed that Jurgen Klopp made never giving up part of the club’s identity as the returned as the formidable force in European football,

The Merseyside giants were on course to win their first league title in 30 years this season, but the coronavirus pandemic has thrown the remainder of the season into the danger of being incomplete.

Liverpool currently holds a 25-point lead over defending Premier League champions Manchester City and Henderson considers their ability to battle until the end as the key to their stunning haul record of 82 points from 29 games this term.

The 29-year-old Henderson believes the improved resilience is down to a long-term mentality shift that Klopp began attempting to implement since taking over in October 2015.

While speaking to Sky Sports News, the Englishman stated that the mentality and resilience in the club has been changed by the German coach, “That sort of mentality and that resilience within us, especially this season, has been massive in terms of the games we’ve won”I feel as though that’s something the manager really started to instill in the squad when he first came. When he first came, I can remember him talking about never ever stopping and finishing or changing your mentality within a game.

Henderson then explained how the mentality allowed Liverpool to give it they’re all in every game and fighting until the end has helped them achieve success in the recent past, “You always finish, you always keep going no matter what happens within a game, no matter what score it is, right until the very end, because you never know what can happen in football and you need to keep the same mentality and keep going right until the end. I can always remember that right from the very beginning.”
