Lazar Markovic To Be Sold In The January Transfer Window?

Liverpool superstar Lazar Markovic has not been seen at the club for over a month and that is because the Serbian was not in manager Jurgen Klopp’s plans and he is also suffering a thigh injury.

Liverpool is currently enjoying their best start to a Premier League campaign as the Reds sit in 2nd place on the table just two points behind Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City after 13 games. The two teams are the only unbeaten sides in England’s top flight and the Merseyside club looks like the only outfit that can challenge City for the Premier League title.

However, there is one small issue at the club concerning the sale of winger Lazar Markovic. The 24-year-old arrived at the club back in 2014 for a transfer fee of £20 million and has made just 34 senior appearances for Liverpool ever since. Markovic’s last appearance for the Reds came back in May 2015 against Queens Park Rangers and Jurgen Klopp has been trying to offload the winger since then.

Markovic was on the exit door at Anfield in the summer transfer window as Klopp negotiated a deal with Anderlecht on a permanent basis but the player rejected a move to Belgium. Therefore, the former Benfica star was forced to train with the academy players and Markovic was training with the U-23’s as he was seen playing matches against Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion.

But since a month, there was no news about Lazar Markovic at Melwood, with reports claiming that Liverpool had paid off the final six months of his contract to allow him to leave the club. However, the truth remains that Markovic was out injured with a muscle injury he suffered during training.

Markovic could be back from injury soon but there is absolutely no way that he would get anywhere close to this current Liverpool squad at the moment. It’s likely that Klopp will look to sell Markovic in the January transfer window as he needs to start fresh at some other club.
