Leeds United could enter race to sign Liverpool FC midfielder

Newly promoted Leeds United could attempt to sign soon-to-be-former Liverpool FC midfielder Adam Lallana this summer. Leeds United clinched promotion to the Premier League over the weekend and would be looking to add some serious firepower to their squad ahead of next season.

Lallana’s current deal with the Reds is subject to expiry following the end of the ongoing Premier League campaign. With just two more games to be played by Liverpool FC, the 32-year old is unlikely to feature for the club. The Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has made the decision not to play Lallana in the remaining fixtures over fears of the player sustaining an injury.

Adding Lallana to their ranks could prove to be a great decision on the part of Leeds United. The 32-year old midfielder certainly is an excellent player on his day and can be a great asset for any side he plays for.

Injuries had prevented Lallana from turning out to be a major player for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool FC. Ever since the German coach was hired as the Reds boss, the midfielder has spent a significant period of time on the sidelines. Despite this, Klopp is a huge admirer of the English international’s ability and mentality as a professional footballer.

Former Liverpool FC midfielder Danny Murphy has urged Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa to make a move for Lallana. Murphy stated that the English midfielder’s style of play would suit Bielsa’s tactics for The Whites. Moreover, the 32-year old Lallana could be signed for free this summer following his contract expiry with the Reds.

A number of sides, including Leicester City and Burnley, have expressed interest in signing Lallana this summer. With the midfielder having prior experience of playing at the highest level, signing the 32-year old can be a great step for any club.

However, rumors suggest that the former Southampton star is keen on securing a move to Leicester City. Lallana reportedly wants to reunite with former Liverpool FC boss Brendan Rodgers at the King Power Stadium.
