Lille could up the asking price for Liverpool target Jonathan David

Lille could up the asking price for Liverpool target Jonathan David should the Ligue 1 outfit reach the knockout rounds of the Champions League.

The Canada international has long been a name on the Anfield’s camp radar with the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on the hunt for reinforcements in the final third.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are both in line to take part in the AFCON come January and the turn of events are likely to force Liverpool to dip into the transfer market for a fresh face with David one of the targets for the Reds.

According to reports from French news outlet L’Equipe, Lille are understood to value David at £30 million but that valuation could be set for a move upward should they make it through to the Champions League Last-16 round.

The Lille star wide man has netted 12 goals in 21 outings so far in this campaign and his club would be keen on pocketing a sizable fee if they were to sanction his sale in the mid-year transfer window.
