Liverpool were held to their second straight draw of the Premier League campaign with Jurgen Klopp’s side playing out a 1-1 stalemate with Crystal Palace on Monday.

The home side started the game on the front foot and could have had an early lead with Trent Alexander-Arnold whipped in a cross from the right and came James Milner’s way only for his strike to go wide.

Harvey Elliott came close moments later but the young midfielder was denied by a block from Palace defender Joachim Andersen with Liverpool looking much stronger of the two teams.

Arnold and Salah combined to create trouble for the Palace backline as Salah could only force a decent save from Palace goalie Guaita.

The visitors, meanwhile, went on a counter attack of their own to reap rewards with Eberechi Eze teeing up Zaha who slotted his finish past Alisson into the back of the net.

Klopp’s men hoped to get back in the game when the second period got underway but Darwin Nunez was denied time and again by the Palace defence.

Nunez, however, had a tense few minutes with the Liverpool striker getting into an altercation with Andersen which had him using his head on the latter and for the referee to give him the marching orders off the pitch.

Luis Diaz came clutch for his side with the Columbian winger producing a moment of brilliance to curl his effort into the back of the net and level the scoreline.

Zaha could have reclaimed the lead for Palace in the dying moments but he hit the woodwork with Liverpool doing just enough to salvage a point from their first home outing of the league season.
