MATCH PROCEEDINGS
It was Brighton who enjoyed the effort through on goal with Solly March making a run in behind the Liverpool backline to have his strike denied by Alisson Becker.
On the other end of the pitch, Liverpool delivered the blow as Mohamed Salah squared the ball for skipper Jordan Henderson whose first-time effort ended up in the top corner of the net.
Liverpool had more chances coming their way in front of the goal but were unable to add to their lead as Alisson was called into action once again to defy Yves Bissouma from finding the leveller.
As Naby Keita went off the pitch to be replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the latter had an instant impact to make by setting up Sadio Mane with a teasing delivery into the box which was headed past Sanchez by the Liverpool forward.

Brighton pulled one back in stunning fashion with Mwepu’s curling effort looping over Alisson as Liverpool went into the break with a narrow one-goal lead over Graham Potter’s men.
The hosts had a third goal ruled out after Salah found the back of the net but was adjudged offside in the build-up to the effort with Brighton hoping to push their luck for their second of the game which reaped rewards.
Former Liverpool man Adam Lallana was the provider for Trossard to tuck his effort past Alisson to make the scoreline 2-2 with Liverpool failing in their efforts to reclaim the lead even as Diogo Jota was brought off the bench.
