Liverpool Boss opens up on Salah’s Muted Celebrations

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that everything is still completely fine despite star winger Mohamed Salah not celebrating his goals against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.

Whoever said that Mohamed Salah is a one season wonder may have to rethink and retract their statements quite quickly. He may have had a rather underwhelming start to the new season by not converting his chances when they fell to him, but Salah seems like he is getting back to his levels of last season off late.

There were concerns regarding Salah’s poor form and whether it would affect Liverpool this current season but after managing to score the winner against Huddersfield Town last weekend and two goals against Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday night, Salah took his tally to six goals in 13 appearances for the Reds this term.

But there was a different type of concern during the game against Red Star Belgrade at Anfield as Salah reached 50 goals for the club and it was the fact that he did not even worry about celebrating that landmark.  However, his manager has played down those muted celebrations.

While speaking to reporters in the post-match press conference the German boss was asked whether Salah was unhappy at Liverpool to which he replied “He is completely fine, Really. If he is not celebrating, I don’t know if he is maybe a bit annoyed about getting asked about it [his scoring record]. We didn’t speak about it, to be honest. You ask him all the time and then I go to him and say, ‘How do you feel because you haven’t scored as often?’ – I am not crazy! It is all good.

Klopp also added that he did see the Egyptian celebrating his goal but it was from a distance, “I saw him celebrating but I couldn’t see his face from that distance. I know he is fine – and I saw his face when I took him off. That was different”

Liverpool fans will be glad to see that Mohamed Salah is back among the goals and hopefully the 26 year old forward can keep at it against Cardiff City in the Premier League tomorrow.
