Liverpool are backed to be confident over the ongoing contract talks with star forward Mohamed Salah despite the player’s exorbitant wage demands.
The rumour mill suggests that the 29-year-old Salah is seeking a £500k-a-week wage to pen a new deal at Anfield and commit his long-term future in the colours of Liverpool.
Despite the speculation of the Merseyside hero wanting a massive bump to his salary which could affect the club’s wage structure, reports from The Daily Star have claimed that Liverpool are confident over reaching an agreement very soon with the player.
The Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has long prioritised an extension for Salah who is one of the most influential performers on the football pitch for the Premier League giants and Klopp wants to fend off the interest credited to the likes of Real Madrid and PSG in Salah’s services.
Salah’s current deal at Anfield runs until the summer of 2023 and Jurgen Klopp will like the Egyptian to follow suit in the footsteps of Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker to pen extended terms.
