Liverpool confirm Rhian Brewster’s sale to Sheffield United in a deal worth £24 million.

Rhian Brewster has completed a move to Sheffield United in what would cost a Blades a club-record fee of £24 million.

The 20-year old had been largely tipped to seal an exit from Liverpool FC in this summer’s transfer window after the arrival of Diogo Jota at Anfield, a signing for the Reds that had been set to curtail Brewster’s first-team involvement in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United side had been the frontrunners in a widely contested race to secure Brewster’s signature, despite Crystal Palace too being equally interested in bringing the England U21 international to Selhurst Park.

Upon signing for the Blades, Brewster marks an end to a five-year stint in the Liverpool FC shirt, winning both the UEFA Champions League as well as the UEFA Super Cup over the past two years for the Merseyside giants.

Despite being coerced into sanctioning Brewster’s sale to the Blades, Liverpool FC hold the right to activate a buy-back clause in his contract for upto three years. Moreover, a 15 per cent sell-on clause is included as well in the agreement reached upon by the Reds with Brewster’s new side, according to reports from BBC Sports.
