Liverpool continue to keep close tabs on Inter Milan maestro Nicolo Barella

Liverpool continue to keep close tabs on Inter Milan maestro Nicolo Barella in the hopes of pipping other suitors to signing the highly-rated midfielder.

An injury crisis in the midfield ranks at Anfield could convince the Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp to bring in reinforcements from the transfer market this summer to add to his options in the centre of the park.

According to a report from The Daily Mirror, Liverpool’s interest in Barella is long-standing but Inter’s high valuation of their prized asset is likely to play spoilsport to Liverpool’s plans of signing the Italy international.

Jurgen Klopp’s Merseysiders could be forced to shell out a fee anywhere between £75-£100 million to sign the 23-year-old Barella who has established himself to be one of the top players in his position in the Serie A.

Liverpool have also been linked with a swoop for Borussia Dortmund’s teenage talent Jude Bellingham which could materialise come the summer of 2023 which is the earliest when Dortmund are open to negotiating a sale of the English midfielder.
